Our Commitment
Our events are for everyone, and so is our website. We work to make angelsmusic.net easy to see, hear, read and use for people of all abilities, and we keep improving it as we add new pages and features.
The Standard We Follow
Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These are the international guidelines for making websites usable for people with disabilities.
Our website partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 AA. This means most of the site meets the standard, and we are still working on the parts listed under Known Limits.
What We Have Done
- Clear page structure: every page has one main heading and headings in order (H1, then H2, then H3), plus header, main content and footer areas, so screen reader users can move through the page easily.
- Skip to content: a “Skip to content” link appears at the top of every page when you press Tab, so keyboard users can jump past the menu.
- Keyboard navigation: menus, buttons, forms and links can be reached and used with a keyboard alone. Menu dropdowns open when you tab to them, and the Esc key closes them.
- Visible keyboard focus: links, buttons and form fields show a clear gold outline when you reach them with the keyboard.
- Image descriptions: images have alt text that describes them.
- Labeled forms: every field in our quote and contact forms has a visible label.
- Color contrast: we test text and button colors against the WCAG minimum (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) and fix the problems we find.
- Language: every page tells browsers and screen readers what language it is in, so words are read with the right pronunciation.
- Phones, tablets and zoom: pages adjust to any screen size and can be zoomed to 200% without losing content or features.
- Less motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, our looping background and title animations stop.
- Cookie controls: a cookie banner lets you choose which cookies you accept.
- A real person to help: our phone number and email are on every page, so you never have to use a form.
Known Limits
We know about these issues and are working on them:
- Videos are hosted on YouTube. Some use automatic captions, which may not be fully accurate.
- Some content comes from other companies, such as YouTube, Google Maps, social media, review widgets and payment pages. We cannot fully control how accessible these are, but we will help you get the same information another way.
- Older blog posts may not meet every part of the standard yet.
